Mayanja Memorial is a private hospital that has been established in Mbarara district to compliment government effort in the delivery of health services to the people. It was founded by Dr. Mugerwa Benon, and named in memory of his late father, Mayanja Martin Luther, who had left a will which had compelled the founder to set up a hospital.
In November 2003, the Hospital started functioning with an in patient capacity of 100 beds and Theatre. It serves Southern Uganda, Northern Tanzania, Rwanda and Eastern Congo, and is situated 2km from Mbarara town along Mbarara – Masaka highway on Nyamityobora Hill. Click here for hospital profile.
